KVWC Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting will be held this evening, May 31st in the Youth Centre at 7pm. This meeting is for all who call KVWC their home. This is the end of year church family meeting that finished April 30/2010. We will be discussing the year past and the year coming; significant issues will be discussed and decided. Hope you can come!!

Parent Seminar, "Life After High School Graduation"

Thursday, May 20th, 6:30pm-8pm in the Worship Centre Foyer. This is a free seminar for parents focused on:
Blessing your high school graduate as they enter adult life
Coaching your young adult about their life mission
Finding helpful resources and tools
Connecting with other parents of young adults
There is no registration fee and Everyone is welcome!!

Note From Pastor Jim

Hi Everyone,

It was a great Missions Weekend with Dr. H.C. Wilson this past weekend and it was exciting when he ended our Sunday morning gathering by encouraging us to bring our loose change to the front to change a life in Haiti. As hundreds of our church family came forward with the change in their pockets and purses, we collected $1355.75! Dr. Wilson told us that the average daily wage in Haiti is one dollar, so we changed over 1300 families lives with only the change in our pockets! Praise the Lord! A huge Thank You!!!

You may or may not know that our official church year comes to a close this Sunday. We begin our new church year in the month of May. Although we are doing better than last year in our giving, we are ending the church year with approximately a $22,000 deficit. I want to encourage each of us to come ready to close up our church year with a balanced budget. Could you please pray about what God would have you give on this last Sunday of our church year? Diane and I are going to give extra to do our part to end the church year responsibly. I thank you in advance for doing the same!

KV Youth Parent Seminar Postponed

Important Update on the KV Youth “Life after High School Graduation” Parent Seminar scheduled for Thursday, April 22. In discussion with Pastor Jim and Pastor Dave
we have decided to postpone the KV Youth High School Grad Parent seminar until Thursday, May 20th, 6:30-8 in the Youth Centre.
This seminar is designed for parents of Grade 11 & 12 students. We need a little more time to gather more parents and to spread the word about this important and empowering gathering of parents.

Church Family News

We wanted to let our Church Family know that Linda ( Bruce ) Horsman's father, Hubert Steeves has passed away. The viewing is Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home at 1657 Mountain Road in Moncton. The funeral is on Thursday @ the Highfield Baptist Church with a reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Hubert's memory, donations to the Gideon's, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Highfield Baptist Church or a memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Looking for old rugs.

Hey everyone,

I (brent) am trying to track down some old throw rugs to be used a carpet on our drum risers. I could use several. If any of you out there are doing your spring cleaning and come across an old throw carpet, please drop it off at the church as it will be put to good use. Library Fundraiser Book Sale

Saturday, April 17th 9am to 12 noon and Sunday, April 18th after morning service. The library is selling a large quantity of books to make room for new inventory. Come to get some great buys!! The library will be having it's Grand Re-opening april 25th and you will want to check out all our new materials!!

Missions Weekend

April 17th & 18th with guest speaker Dr. HC Wilson, Global Partners Director.
Saturday, April 17th at 6PM Coffee House with dessert being served in the KVCW Worship Centre. Speakers Dr. HC Wilson, Judith Irving and Randy Chaisson. The focus will be on Haiti and a free will offering will be taken.

Concert Cancellation

The Phillips, Craig & Dean Concert scheduled for May 19th at KVWC has been cancelled by Lighthouse Events. If you purchased tickets for that concert, you can exchange them for tickets to the Fredericton concert, May 20th or get a refund. If you plan to go to the Fredericton concert, you must call or e-mail Lighthouse Events by April 16th to let them know. Call or e-mail Jeff at jeff@thelighthouseevents.com or # 207-232-0966. The church office will also refund your tickets.

"Thirsty" Postponed

"Thirsty", scheduled for this Wednesday, March 31st will be postponed due to preparations for Easter Sunday. We will be meeting again on April 14th.

Free Seminar "Nurturing a Jesus Culture in Your Home"

This Wednesday, March 31st from 6:30 to 8pm in the Rehearsal room, Lower Worship Centre our Kidz World is presenting a free seminar for parents.
It will include:
Building a strong family faith
Leading family times with God
Finding helpful resources and effective tools
Connecting with other parents who have a love for families!
No registration fee and everyone is welcome!!

Concert Cancellation

The East Coast Inspiration Tour with Rita McNeil has been cancelled for Sunday evening, March 28th. They are hoping to re-schedule at a later time and we will pass on that date as it becomes available. You may present your ticket at the church office for refunds.

Just a reminder everyone, that there will be a thirsty service here at the church tomorrow (Wed) night at 7:30pm. Come be inspired, refreshed, and filled.

Ministry Opportunity

International Family Fun Day
Saturday, Mar 13th
This is a local ministry that some of our Kings Valley Volunteers are involved with and we would like to let you know their needs for the upcoming IFFD this Saturday. So far, they have not been able to secure a 15-passenger van for transporting people that don't have a car. If anyone would be able to help with picking up a family or individuals or helping out in any way during this event, please let them know. Funeral Arrangements

We want to let everyone know the funeral arrangements for Rose Landry, the sister of Marg Titus and Gary (Michele) Breen. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John with visiting on Thursday, March 11 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12 at 12:00 noon from Brenan's Chapel. Please continue to pray for this family during this time.

Prayer Request
