Update from Haiti Missionaries

I want to share a letter I received from the Gilles family in Haiti. Carl and Maya were with us at KVW this past fall sharing about their ministry in Haiti and they are one of the missionary families we support as a church......

Hi everyone,
We just want to tell you that our family as well as all the missionaries with Global Partners in Haiti are doing well. As all of you know, we were hit with an earthquake Tuesday at 5pm. No one is hurt. God is great!! He protected us and we see his grace & faithfulness all over. Our house is still standing, but we can't live in it yet since we aren't sure if the structure was affected. Some walls are cracked and we will be asking an inspector to evaluate the house before we move in again. We sleep in a field where there is nothing that can fall on us if ever there was another earthquake. We don't have electricity in the house, but we do have water and food for the next few weeks.

Please keep praying:
Protection of our family
Discernment whether we should stay in Haiti or leave until the situation
gets better
The hurting people in Haiti

Remember that our safety is not in the absence of danger but in the presence of the Lord. We love you all and are SO appreciative of your prayers. The God we are serving is good and even through at times we don't understand things he allows, we know HE is in control and He loves His children.

Carl & Maya Gilles, in Haiti

Many are asking how they can help and how they can give financially to aid in helping the Haitian people during this desparate time. We will be sharing how you can do that this coming Sunday and will be covering this country and her people in prayer during our gathering.
