Xerox Thank You

Hey Everyone !! A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the first Xerox dinner this week. From the parking team to the kitchen staff and clean up crew, we could not do it without you !!! If you were there you know that we had a power outage for over an hour and it was kind of hairy for a while but everyone worked together and we fed them an hour earlier then planned. Hats off to everyone involved as we all worked together with great attitudes and smiles !!! Now, on to Saturday, and the feeding of 500. If anyone has some time and is able to help we would appreciate it....When the meal is done around 6ish we will be getting the worship centre ready for the gathering on Sunday morning and the " many hands make light work " ..... Call Sherry McCormick @ 651-1123 if you can come for even an hour or two......And we would like to congratulate Craig & Ruth Logan on winning a trip to Jamaica. ( Craig works for Xerox and his work team all won the trip ) Way to go guys !

Update on Andrew Bryce

Thank you to everyone for your prayers for Andrew Bryce and his family. We received this update today from Peter Bryce:

"Many have requested that they would like to visit Andrew (Dad). We truly wish that we could allow visitors, however Dad really needs rest. Because of this, we are requesting that there be no visitors at this point, unless requested by the family.
After 2 major brain surgeries, he is extremely tired and not speaking much. Lots of rest is crucial in the recovery process. We want to thank everyone again so much for the ongoing prayer support.
We are waiting now on today's CT scan. As soon as we have news, we will update you. The verses and words from God that people have been getting have been very encouraging to all of us.
We are keeping them all in a journal. Please continue to send these, as they have been really uplifting. Let's continue to pray for a full recovery, trusting that regardless how long it takes, God will bring Andrew back to complete health."

Please continue to pray for Andrew and the Bryce family.

Prayer Request

Many of you have been praying for Peter (Stephanie) Bryce's Dad, Andrew and we wanted to give you an update we received today from Peter's Mom, Shirley:

"Andrew had another CT scan this AM. The neurosurgeon came in to chat with us after and say that the fluid has increased in one section of the brain as well as his white blood count. There is a pocket of infection in that area. So he will have another surgery today to drain that...not as long or extensive as the first. However he will be drilling into the brain and the usual risks apply.
The kids have returned all returned home and back to school. Peter will be back today from Saint John to keep vigil with me for this next surgery. Please keep them all in your prayers for peace and assurance of Jesus' continued hand on their dad. Thanks for continuing to stand watch and labor with us."

Please continue to keep the Bryce family in your prayers!!

Prayer Request

Please continue to pray for Andrew Bryce (Peter Bryce's dad) who is in Moncton hospital recovering from recent brain surgery. Today's Ct scan revealed some fluid on his brain and some swelling. The doctors are concerned and will do another scan early next week. Please continue to pray for healing of infection and that swelling will cease. The family has been so appreciative of your prayers and concern.

Haiti

Just a reminder to anyone interested in donating to relief efforts in Haiti that you will be able to do it through KV Church. We will be going through the Global Partners ( the Canadian branch ) arm of the Wesleyan Church. They are already on the ground there in Haiti and helping with rescue & recovery operations. We hope the money will be matched by the Canadian government and if that doesn't happen we will go with another agency like, World Hope Canada....

Prayer Requests

We just wanted to update our church family on a few things going on that we need to be praying about. Sandra ( Geoff ) Moon's dad has passed away and we need to be praying that they will feel God's peace during this sad time for them.
Also, Leon ( Cindy ) Payne's father, Kenneth Payne ,of Cow's Hill NL has passed away. They are in NL for the funeral and please be praying for safe travels for them. The arrangements for Kenneth are under the care of Parson's Funeral Home in Deer Lake, NL. Anyone interested in making a donation in his memory can visit the web site. www.parsonsfuneralhome.com

Update from Haiti Missionaries

I want to share a letter I received from the Gilles family in Haiti. Carl and Maya were with us at KVW this past fall sharing about their ministry in Haiti and they are one of the missionary families we support as a church......

Hi everyone,
We just want to tell you that our family as well as all the missionaries with Global Partners in Haiti are doing well. As all of you know, we were hit with an earthquake Tuesday at 5pm. No one is hurt. God is great!! He protected us and we see his grace & faithfulness all over. Our house is still standing, but we can't live in it yet since we aren't sure if the structure was affected. Some walls are cracked and we will be asking an inspector to evaluate the house before we move in again. We sleep in a field where there is nothing that can fall on us if ever there was another earthquake. We don't have electricity in the house, but we do have water and food for the next few weeks.

Please keep praying:
Protection of our family
Discernment whether we should stay in Haiti or leave until the situation
gets better
The hurting people in Haiti

Remember that our safety is not in the absence of danger but in the presence of the Lord. We love you all and are SO appreciative of your prayers. The God we are serving is good and even through at times we don't understand things he allows, we know HE is in control and He loves His children.

Carl & Maya Gilles, in Haiti

Many are asking how they can help and how they can give financially to aid in helping the Haitian people during this desparate time. We will be sharing how you can do that this coming Sunday and will be covering this country and her people in prayer during our gathering.

Bethany Bible College Chorale

We look forward to Bethany Bible College Chorale in two weeks on January 24th at our Sunday morning gathering. This would be a great time to invite family and friends to visit our Sunday gathering. We believe every Sunday is a good time, but this will be a special service for sure ! Please be praying as they prepare to come and minister to our church family. The theme for that gathering will be deliverance...fitting very nicely with our "Big Faith" series. See you there!!

Prayer for Haiti

We are praying for the country and people of Haiti in the coming weeks and months after the tragic earthquake that took place yesterday in Port-au-Prince. We are going to find out what Global Partners (our missions arm of the Wesleyan Church) is setting up for the relief and rebulding of Haiti. If you would like to give to that effort through our church in the coming weeks, earmark those funds for Haiti, and we will be able to receipt you and send the funds to Global Partners.

Bethany Bible College Interns

We would like to introduce our new Bethany Bible College Interns who started this week. They are Stefan and Deborah Gilbert. Stefan will be working with our First Impression Ministries team and Deborah will be working with Pastor Dave in our Youth Ministries. We are very excited to have this young couple serving with us and we encourage you to introduce yourselves to them over the next few weeks!
