What's your Story Videos:

Hi Everyone,
Many of you have been asking for copies of the "what's your story" videos which were aired during our EPIC series. Instead of mass producing DVDs, we went ahead and posted them all on our website.

Also, we all were SO blessed by the power of these stories that we have decided to continue creating them, and throwing them into the flow of our Sunday services as often as possible. Stay tuned...

To see the videos, head over to www.kingsvalley.ca and navigate to the "listen and watch" section of the site, then into "stories." Enjoy.

Trunk Or Treat

Hi Everyone,

It is almost time for our annual TRUNK OR TREAT !!! Saturday, October 31st at 6:30 pm.

This is one of our largest outreach events of the year and we would love to be able to have at least 60 trunks filled with treats. We have about 40 trunks right now. We need donations of treats and trunks ( we can help fill the trunks with treats).

We need more volunteers to help with cleanup as its Saturday night and we will need to have the Worship centre ready for the Sunday Morning Gathering.

Volunteers are also needed to pass out treats, assist with easy games inside the church, set up and tear down.

This is always a great time for us as a church family to have fun working as a team together while providing a great reach into our community. Don’t miss out! Please contact Jennifer Ryder at #849-9692 if you can be of help !!

Thank You !!

Food Pantry

Hey everyone.

Just a reminder that this Sunday we will be receiving donations of non-perishable food items to help us store the KVWC food pantry. The food pantry is a stock of food which we draw from on a weekly basis to help families in need. If you haven't made arrangements to bring something to help us top up the stock and prepare for another year of giving like Christ, we would ask that you please consider doing so. If everyone brought in one item, we would have enough to do us for the year. So please, don't forget, when you come to church this Sunday, please bring a non-perishable food donation to help keep this ministry afloat.

Thanks

New Series in less than 2 weeks.

Hi everyone,

We trust you are enjoying the EPIC series as much as we are. This coming Sunday is the EPIC series wrap-up, you DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS SERVICE, it is going to be a powerful time. We want to put on your radar a brand new series that will be beginning next week. The series is called "Pain Killer." In it, we are going to explore how painful life can be, and what the Bible says about pain, suffering, and healing. We will be specifically looking at the pain of suffering, the pain of loss, and the pain rejection. Mark it on your calendars, "Pain Killer" starts in less than 2 weeks.

Are you living a good story?

Over the past few weeks I (Brent) have been privileged to be able to sit down with several people from our KVWC community, and to hear their stories. Many of you have probably noticed during our services throughout the month of October, that we have been showing these testimonies in a video short called "What's Your Story?" It has been such a blessing to be able to sit, and talk, and hear how time after time Jesus rescued, redeemed and restored each person, no matter how different, difficult or bleak their circumstances were. If hearing these testimonies has ensured me of anything it is that, God loves us, He wants us, and He will chase us to the ends of the earth so that when we wake up and realize our need for Him, He is right there... Just a breathe away... It is nice to know that God is like that.
The other thing I have learned, or am learning as a result of filming these testimonies has come more in the form of a question, and it is this: "Are you STILL living a good story?" I think a lot of the time as Christians, we sell God (the "author" of life if you will) short on the story of our lives. A lot of us can tell the story of the first chapter of our lives, how God came, and rescued us from Sin and despair (an amazing story it is), but when it comes to the second act or Chapter, we resort to "yea... uhh.. life's been good.." I can't help but wonder, if God, the Author has bold adventure, powerful acts, and incredible plot twists for us.. I can't help but wonder if He wants our lives to be purposeful and specific, an adventure that only He can plan for us. I can't help but wonder if "the story of Brent" is as good as it COULD be... Or if the story of the KVWC is as good as it could be. Recently, I have not been able to escape this question, "are you still living a good story? Are you experiencing all God has for you? Or, are you allowing your fears, your struggles, stresses and busyness to get in the way of an amazing, fulfilling adventure that the "author of life," has all mapped out for you on the whiteboard of your life?
So, here is to our stories... past, present and future... And here is to "grabbing life by the horns" today, and doing something bold, or passionate for the Name, and Kingdom of Jesus.

The rest of your story starts right now... Live it well.

Peace,

Brent

Pizza With the Pastors - New Families

We had a very nice Pizza lunch today with new families. It was an opportunity for families to meet with the staff @KV and spend some time getting to know each other. There were about 50 people that attended. It was awesome to meet some new people and see that God is moving in drawing people to KV. And this Blog is also a chance to remind anyone that has been attending for a few weeks OR a few months that if you haven't filled out a yellow card at the Welcome Centre that we would urge you to drop by and fill one out so that we can follow up and get to know you. In a church our size it really helps. Also have a great gift for you when you drop by, our new stainless water bottles ( as shown by Pastor Brent @ this mornings "gathering") with the new @KV logo....... Look forward to meeting more new people in the weeks to come !!

Trunk Or Treat

A reminder that our annual event Trunk or Treat will be happening on Saturday, October 31st. There is still a great need for Volunteers, People willing to donate candy and trunks and a clean up crew. If you are unable to be there and are able to even donate candy for someone else's trunk that would also be a help. If you are willing to help in any area of this outreach to the community please call the church office @ 847-5343... THANKS !!

Church family Prayer Request

Please be praying for Dave Eldridge's brother, Ford, who lives in Florida. He is in the hospital and very ill with heart problems.

Thanksgiving Sunday Food Offering

Just a reminder to everyone who is able, to bring non perishable items for the KV church food bank on Oct.11th , which is this Sunday coming. This is Thanksgiving weekend and will give us a chance to show how thankful we are by helping others. There is always a bigger need during the winter months with higher power bills and seasosnal workers out of work. This is a chance to help people in our own church family AND families in the community. There will be a spot in the church foyer to drop off your items. We are hoping to have a great response and really fill up the church food bank.
